The Overtake is a super lightweight, aerodynamic helmet featuring some of the best, and revolutionary safety features in cycling today. Specifically engineered to help you win more podiums and provide a high level of confidence in safety.
Born out of the wind tunnel, the Overtake was meticulously tested against other race ready helmets in order to give you the most aerodynamic advantage. That testing paid off, as the Overtake was significantly more aerodynamic than most other race helmets in the same category. Sometimes aerodynamics come at the price of proper ventilation but the 21 specifically designed air vents keep your head cool and feature specific channels to properly stow your sunglasses.
The honeycomb layer underneath the outer shell is Koroyd, Smith's proprietary safety tech that stacks up with the rest of the competition. Absorbing 30% more energy than standard EPS foam, Koroyd is made up of thousands of co-polymer extruded tubes that provides extremely efficient and consistent energy absorption. The open cell construction allows cool air in, while expelling hot air from the rider's head.
Also featuring MIPS, the Multi-Directional Impact Protection System. This small layer on the inside of the helmet allows the outer shell to rotate independently from the riders head and also protect against off-angle impacts. Proven to be more effective against concussion prevention and reduce forces upon impact.
